Cheers,
Thanks for the info tskguy. I will probably only fill parts of the bed. The moving gantry weight will be 50kg as it is, but if the steppers can handle it I might fill it as well.
Planning on using 2x 380ozin steppers and G540 to move the gantry, and 10mm lead ballscrews.

Nice!
Good going! It's definitely a beast...
Extended the legs and cemented them into the ground. Also filled the them up.

Cheers,
looks like its leaning. maybe its just me 8)
It's the floor that's "leaning", the machine is 100% level.
That's pretty serious stuff, ie cementing it into the ground...
Personally I would have preferred that the machine could be moved around, and since it has a solid frame maybe even put some braked-wheels on it. Even if it needed some floor packing to make it sit level.
All that metal and cement and you have a wooden z axis???? Doesnt make much sense to me? Why not finish the job right?
Eric
oops double post sorry ...
Ok that makes sense! Im sure that thing will perform very well!!! How heavy is it?
Do you have a hard time opening the cabinet doors with the machine in front of them?Originally Posted by Boomslang
