    Dear Sirs,

Full disclosure: I have not operated a Tree knee mill before (though I have used many different knee mills and benchtop mills in the past).

I am going to look at a Tree 2UVR mill today that is for sale near me:

The mill is not under power.

What are the easy things to look for, or stay away from?

    Appreciate your suggestions!

    Sincerely,

    Duane Kaufman

    ...Welcome Duane,

nice this machine has the knee(W axis) power feed motor......there is a few things to check. Collect open/closing operation should be checked with a Tool. Also, most likely that machine is wired for 440vac 3ph and has (3)three motors with 3 Heaters per motor that would have to be change for 220v operation. The motors are dual voltage 220/440 but the wiring can be so old and dirty that the wiring Labels are un-readable. Some motors have metal tags, if I remember correctly helps. If, you can not power up the machine than dont pay to much and you can always use it for Parts machine. Belts, bearings and some other parts are available still.

Thanks machinehop5 - I believe the price is OK, I just have to figure out how to get it into my shop.
The seller seems to have lost the collets that were with the machine in the pictures...grrrr

    Sincerely,
    Duane
