Default Motor mount size 23 to 1530 question

Hi, I picked up a cnc router in a trade that was non functional and am working on bringing it to life.

It is a typical 1530 framed setup:
    - with a moving gantry
    - DIY build
    - appears to mostly use avid parts such as the linear bearings and stepper motor mounts and many of the conventional drive components:

I am rebuilding it to fit some of my own part needs - honestly mostly as a drill press to make hole patterns.

Typical holes will be for #10 screws.

Default Re: Motor mount size 23 to 1530 question

It was set up to have the stepper motors in line with the 2 turns per inch screw drive but it is much better for me if the motor is mounted off set and driven from a belt to the shaft.

I could use some advice on over coming how to deal with mounting things to work.

Here are a couple of photos of the mock up that shows roughly the location. Obviously not finished mounting things but it shows the general idea and what I am trying to figure out.

I can't see how the mount works with a nema 23 motor mounted to 15 series material as the hole does not align to the slot. If it aligns with 2 slots of the 1530 that would be even better but I will take what I can get.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Harry
