    Default Glueing Aluminum to Aluminum

My Colonel wants me to glue a piece of laser engraveable aluminum to a piece of 1/4" aluminum. How can I affix this to stay good? We're going to stick it together, waterjet cut it into a state, and engrave on it for an award. I've tried general epoxy and yellow weatherstrip adhesive, aka yellow snot. I'm thinking the next choice is for them to buy me some Gorilla Glue to try?

Loctite 422 worked well for me for aluminum to aluminum
    Glue | MSCDirect.com

Looks like there are a lot of options:
    3M CA40 Instant Adhesive - 1 oz S-19696 - Uline
    Supreme 10HT Product Information | MasterBond.com
    Supreme 11HT Product Information | MasterBond.com
Loctite Epoxy Weld Bonding Compound from Loctite Adhesives (this one specifically states not recommended for water immersion like in your waterjet though)

If you want to ensure a solid bond forever then you should reach out to 3M and make an inquiry about your requirements - they should be able to set you up with something that will work well. (they used to send me free samples all the time).

Why not simply have your piece of 1/4" ally anodized black and then mark that with your CO2 laser? works perfectly.

Otherwise, I'd suggest a "contact adhesive" .. in the UK we use solvent based stuff, spread it onto each side, let it dry then press together. "Evostick" is a popular brand name here, but I doubt they sell it in America as it contains solvents.

If you access to it, try 3M VHB Double sided tape. Some of that stuff is actual used to secure glass to AL.
