    Hello!
I'm looking for a compact 5 axis mill for machining medical prototypes (for a business not a hobby) that's capable of machining stainless steel mainly ( in some cases titanium but not a priority right now though) and also capable of machining parts that are between 150 and 200mm length. My budget is relatively humble and is around 40k dollars (50k dollars max if necessary). Can you give me some tips and suggestions please?
    Any help is welcome.
    Thanks in advance.

May be a used Datron 5 axis would be a better deal

Thank you Jim Dawson and mactec54 for your answers, i came across the TN5-V6-TC8 and i found 50k for that machine is a bit too much. The machine needs to be new unfortunately (some bs laws in my country).

Given that you must buy a new machine, the TN5-V6-TC8 is the only 5 axis machine for <$50K that I found. A Haas TM1 with 5 axis is about $75K. You might be able to find something in China for less money.

thank you, i just saw that HAAS has a mini mill starting at 29k euros with an option of 5 axis rotary at about 18k euros, what do you think?

The Haas mini is a nice machine. I have a Haas and love it. But the 5 axis option is for the drives and wiring only, does not include the rotary table hardware, that is an additional $20K to $37K

No there are many others you just have to spend some time looking how big are your biggest parts going to be

Every CNC Machine manufacture builds a 5 axis machine and some would be in your price range

This will do quite well also https://makezine.com/2013/09/23/pock...five-axis-cnc/

The Doosan DNM-5AX machines would be in your size range, but I think would be out of your budget. No on-line pricing is available, you would need to contact your local distributor for pricing.

The only other thing I can think of would be to buy a Tormach 1100MX and add the 4th and 5th axis yourself.

    https://tormach.com/machines/mills/1100mx.html

Search for ''5 axis trunnion table''

considering the budget I'd say Jim's pretty much right with a tormach (or a mill of the sort) . The mill is cheap enough , a rotary is cheap enough , and it's dead simple to build a platform that you can plunk another rotary onto . Obviously the 1st rotary will be limited in it's rotation without wrapping the wires from the second rotary , but it's easily doable . Only thing is you may need is to setup with a different control software since pathpilot appears to be limited to 4 axis . Pathpilot is built on linuxcnc , so the linux group may be able to help you to get pathpilot setup with both rotaries or setup with linuxcnc , either way both are great softwares
In my opinion it's a much better and more solid option for prototyping than any of 5 axis rigs that fall within your budget .
