    Hey guys,

Im looking for a cnc that can make engravings or cutting on 1/16”-1/8” thick of steel sheet and is at least 24”x24” of working area.

One of my main products is an aprox. 24”x12” target (example attached) which I want to custom make.

Any suggestions or comments are gladly appreciated.

Laser fiber cutting or plasma cutter is a good optional.
fiber 1000w laser metal cutting machine cutting 2mm thickness stainless steel and 3mm diameter hole

    Plasma
Cnc plasma metal cutting machine cutting steel door

Steel engrave , how about engrave area ? then suggest laser marking or air marking
Fiber 20w Laser marking machine 1

chinese fiber lasers like those are 25-60k.
the marking machines are 6-15k. the big machine can mark too, but its going to be much slower at it.

    i looked into them already

your part there is definitely a laser part, cnc routing/milling would be far more expensive and time consuming.

It's not always worthwhile to do every job in-house. People who buy these laser cutters (and abrasive water-jet cutters) need to find work for them to do, in order to pay for them, and they often make it quite affordable for their clients. Call around; you might be surprised how cheap it is to have someone else do this for you.

I made server mother board holders for our render farm, and i got the first 8 parts for $125cdn. the rest will be $4cdn each. 0.060 galvanised sheet. That's including 4 bends.
so yeah, its really cheap to outsource laser cutting thin steel.

There are a lot of great options out there that you can buy. CNC laser cutters are usually expensive items but now you can buy a decent one for under $1000. BOBCnc E4 is a great and perhaps the most suitable option. Still this laser engraver needs to be assembled first and has a wooden base. If your budget for a laser cutter is even below $500, I'll leave a link below that may help you out in that regard.

i would not recommend any of bobs cnc products they are junk made of plywood and very underpowered if you are looking at $2k usd range there are some good options much better than bobs... millright mega V XL... ebay 6090 w/4axis cnc... cnc4newbie newcarve... onefinity woodworker...bulkman 3d workbee 1515 or queenbee pro 1515

these are all decent opttons avail today for a first timer beginner and all about $2k or lower in price.

all of these options will cut plastics wood easily and light cuts in alum and maybe very very very light cuts in steel
