Found one at Aliexpress but it is $ 400.00 CAN for shipping.

If a unique design, have you considered custom from a local Tin Shop? Look for one that has a decent reputation, you can get any hardware from Hammond etc.
You can save money by painting it yourself if need be.

Al, I have come to the same conclusion. The one from Aliexpress is $ 800.00 CAN. with shipping.
I should be able to get it made locally for that or hopefully less.

I would suggest obtaining any hardware needed before manuf. so they can incorporate it.
I have done this on occasion where off the shelf was expensive.
For any operator panel I have used a local engraver that reverse engraves Lamacoid, I just supply him a DXF file.

I want to leave the top open and make my own top panel for all the buttons and switches I need.
This controller will be used for 3 machines, one at a time of course.
I have yet to figure out if I can use the same stepper drivers for all 3 machines or use separate sets of them.

You know have you checked with salvage yards or recycling (junk) yards near you? Sometimes things like that get thrown out when the plant or company closes down. The one near me, has lots of stuff like that out in the yard and they sell it for scrap metal price, unless your willing to pay more .
