Looking for a CNC lathe for re contouring gun barrels. I'm guessing that a 12x36 would be fine but boy would I like a 11x26, shop space is at a premium with all the other machines I have. I will be :
1. Re contouring barrels so I'll need a tailstock
2. Crowning/beveling the muzzle outer edge
3. Cutting 2 vertical keys ( 3 horizontal keys too but I'm guessing that the milling machine will have to keep doing that.)
I would guess this means I'll need a 4 post tool station

Besides re contouring three different configurations of barrels I'll also have it do gas pistons.

The only option I've seen is the microkinetics 1236 and I have found one used but it's 10 hours away with no proof of life. I am in Jerome Michigan and would prefer to drive no more than 4 hours.
