Hey Jeep534:
I’m in the process of doing a similar retrofit. Using the Viper 200’s and I just went to http://toroid-transformer.com./ and emailed them my motor spec’s and they were very helpful. You might want to give them a try.

Larken,
I have a Bridgeport boss R2E4 servo machine that has a dead control and I am in the process of doing a retrofit. I would like to use the Viper 200 card. I was wondering about the power supply.. and Heatsinking
the servo's on my machine are as follows:
powertron
permanent Magnet DC servo motor
Rated Torque: 30" pounds
Max Voltage: 146
Rms Amps: 14.6
Max pulse Amps: 58.3
Frame C402-3
Model 402CNSPOS72
Serial 15347
With a BEI encoder Mounted
Model 25G-250-ABZC-8803-sM18-s (150336-250)
Part Number 924-01029-092A

Yes, that motor is ok for the Viper 200.
For heatsinking, mount them on the edge or flat on 1/4 alum plate and have a fan blowing on them. At the higher voltages some of the power resistors for the voltage regulator need abit more cooling.
To get 146 volts DC, your transformer should output about 100 volts.
I have updated the photo's on my web site http://jeep534.smugmug.com/Hobbies
the next step is the electronics. I am working out of town so progress is slow
