    Default Viper200 problem

I am using a Viper 200 drive to power my mill spindle it works well at higher speeds
    >300 RPM. But at low RPM 60 - 120 the rotation is not uniform it tends to surge
this causes problems with coordinated moves like tapping.

What procedure should I use to tune the Viper 200 to fix this problem?

Increase the derivative setting. you can go as high as 4 x that P is.

I find half the time now with CNC zone there is no reply button to posts and when you loging, it seems to forget and you have to keep loging in to reply. Its frustrating ... please bring back the old cnc zone !
