    Default My DIY CNC cutting Aluminium 7075


    Some info:
    Spindle: 2.2 Kw Chinese
    Stepper: Nema34 12nm Closed Loop
    Machine: Mesa 5i25 7i76, LinuxCNC 2.8
    Toolpaths: Solidcam iMachining, Roughing and Finish

    I will update this post with feed rates later and try to include them in the next video. All footage is in realtime.

    What do you think should I make a new one? Lots of stuff has changed and I plan to share more about the machine and hopefully finally share all the files on GrabCAD. I want it to be perfect that's what's holding me off but its probably better to have a not so perfect version than nothing at all isn't it?

    Looks good the mill is working well, you should run a edge chamfer before you remove your part, if you have part location on your fixture you can chamfer the back side flip it over and then machine your part and chamfer the top when finished cutting your part out. and edge chamfer makes all the difference to a finished part

    The part turned out really nice. My question is will this handle the string pressure? Aluminum cut that thin is not very strong

    Yes it was strong enough, I am working to these limits. But I have to change the design to get it sound right!
