Anyone who says "It only goes together one way" has no imagination.
Just curious, what holds the sides on? I mean the outermost sides that have the slot cut that allows the motion.
Hi tbj,
The sides are held in place by the rectangular shaped cross section. The cross section is kept in place by two outermost sides. At 1:30 of my video, you can see how one outermost side fits under the edge of the cross section. Hope that helps.
Thanks
Roger

Hi! Nice work!
I got issues when creating the gcode from the dxf files, but I have no issues when I create gcode from skp using sketchucam. Would you share the skp file ?
Thanks!
Use simple conveyer belt and cable tie. works like a treat.

Sorry - dxf noob question. I use Sketchup & SketchUCam but obviously not enough to be self-sufficient. This is the first time I've tried importing a .dxf file.
When I import the dxf file, the drawings (which are just lines - nothing filled in) don't allow the SketchUCam Inside Cut or Outside Cut tool to do anything. It's like the shapes are open or something.
BTW, have you shared the Sketchup file on Google's Sketchup warehouse? 3D Warehouse
thanks
thanks for the Cable Carrier file nice work
Thanks gene8522!!
Just awsome. just recently got my first hobby cnc table going and would love to use this for some more test cuts! I use the phlatboyz plugin but have no way (that i have found) to import dxf. to sketchup. Would it be too much of a bother to ask you for the skp. files? I'm using metric if that matters for the file.
Thank You ahead of time, and great work.....Tim
Completely based on rogerquin's design, I have implemented this model on SolidWorks (this is the soft I use). On this version, the dimensions are based on functions, so you can modify the geometry of the model to make a cable carrier with the wished dimensions.
The variables are in spanish, sorry.
Units on mmCode:"Altura" = Height of the carrier "Anchura" = Width of the carrier "GrosorTabla" = Table thickness "DiamFresa" = Milling diameter
Above all, thanks to rogerquin for his design
Regards!
Looks like a cool project .Thank You for sharing your design.

Great design! I made a cable carrier years ago, never liked it all that much. Going to make these out of 1/8 lexan. Thanks!

Go to sketchucation.com. They have a set of plugins there for sketchup
To import dxf.
