Re: Show how to build a CNC machine from the very beginning to the end
Ladies anbd Gents,
I am happy to confirm that my SVM-2 machine with full enclosure, cabinet stand, QTC (Air), 4th axis, and engraving kit is now on Vessel - Cosco England, and bound for the UK.
It should be here in 4 weeks, so I will do a full report as soon as it lands and it set up

Beautiful setup ! And the best news it's that mean that my place in the list go up :) hope end of September for my SVM-0

Wow! That is a real nice setup. I look forward to reading all about it [emoji3]

Awesome news! Glad to see yours make it on the boat!
Re: Show how to build a CNC machine from the very beginning to the end
Looks like another machine is all packed up in the background of one of the photos.
Re: Show how to build a CNC machine from the very beginning to the end
Rustyh,
This is a very nice looking machine with apparent great attention to detail.
I do hope you start a new thread when it arrives and share your experiences with this machine!
Anyway, have fun with it!
Re: Show how to build a CNC machine from the very beginning to the end
Will be good to know the cost/sequence/taxes on shipping one to the uk.
Re: Show how to build a CNC machine from the very beginning to the end
I am also interested as to the UK shipping/import fees, also, very nice machine!

That is great news!!! My confidence is slowly, although very slowly, growing in Defeng and Skyfire. If these units were stateside, I would easily pick an SVM-2 today.
What is current delivery queue? 60 days from ARO + transit time?
Re: Show how to build a CNC machine from the very beginning to the end
I can design in CAD, but I don't have stress analysis experience.
I think I understand the amount of steel involved, my column would be no smaller than 200x200mm at 16mm thick with gussets too. I also have a flat t slot welding surface, I'm just not the most skilled welder, that's why I was cautious about undertaking the task.
But you're right, this is the wrong thread for this, I'll leave it here.
Hi Cristian.....no offence meant........too many side issues on other subjects have made the thread long and off topic too many times.
It would be better to start a new thread and invite all and sundry to comment on what you would like to have in a build, so that before the first piece of metal is cut you have full advice and design info.
We all like to participate in someone else's design, purely from the interest point of view.
It becomes a different issue if the new thread is specifically about your own design and does not want anyone adding their preferences etc.
In a new thread you can voice all your pet theories and invite criticism to see if they hold water......that way it can cover a vast range of topics allied to your build.
Ian.

Thanks for the comments guys, I will keep you posted once it land in the hands of customs, and let you know the processes and costs involved. Then its on to to the machine itself :)

This thread is about the SVM-0 mill not the one you are talking about.

Thats rather strange, I thought the thread header was "Show how to build a CNC machine from the very beginning to the end", maybe my browser missed off the words "for Ian's SVM-0 Only"
I think both Defeng and all the threads active members treat this as the thread for all of defengs products, as well as a discussion place for order progression, and Im almost certain members are keen to here about order status to help increase confidence that their orders (or future orders) will get processed.
If its ok with everyone, i will continue to share updates and then start a new thread once the machine has landed
