Hi Pete
I want to wish you all the luck in the world with the Emco. As you know we tried to get it working but as you mentioned to me many times it takes a lot of time and patience.
I'll call you when the Hardinge is up and running. Also I will be starting to plan out the CNC plasma cutter/ router.
Many thanks again my friend for the help. Dave the trainman

What did you do to get the Turret all working, did you make a macro for it, or something else, also what board for the hardware/control side of it, everything on your 120P is the same as the PC120 I have, all the mechanical parts anyway
Mactec54
I'm using Andrew's board Emco Turret Controller for Mach , for the turret. I did have to write my first ever macro for the part pull out thing

Thanks for the contact, your bar puller worked great, your whole build looks good in the video, I have a 140T as well, it is the same frame as the 220 just older

Hi Pete,
I have enjoyed reading about your retrofit, I just picked up a 120P and will be retrofitting it as well. Have you been satisfied so far with your max spindle speed and other machine parameters?
Cheers,
Jacob
Hi Jacob, I've been very happy with the lathe. Since the conversion, it has run flawlessly. I have set my max spindle speed to 4000 rpm, but I rarely go over 3000 rpm. The only drawback I had with the lathe was chips building up quickly in the tray. With the tool changer and puller, you kinda of see those chips pile up quickly
pete
Excellent, too many chips is a good problem to have! Do you have any posts about how you implemented the bar feeder? I see in the video you posted you are using something in the turret to pull the bar, I would love to know more....
On my machine I have a complete T1 control and transformer so I am going to attempt to fire it up with RS-232 before I tear into it. We'll see how that goes.
Cheers,
Jacob
