    Default 4th Axis cutting DSP A18 Vectric problem

    Hello,

    I am new to 4th axis rotary cutting, I have a large bed machine with a rotary cutter down the Y axis, using a A18 DSP. I can create toolpaths in Aspire but whatever post processor I use wont work, need X to A, have tried all the ones.

    Any advice?

    Can you elaborate on what problems you are seeing? What doesn't work?

    Hi Ger21,

    Yeah, sorry, didn't give much detail.

    I create a file in vectric using the wrapping gadget. All setup correctly, with right axis, with origin on centre. I create a toolpath and export as a Mach 2/3-Wrapx2a atc(mm).txt file (I have tried all the others that wrap x to a).


    I set the machine up, and zero all the axis on the centre point, then move the Y axis down the material and zero that. When I run the software I get soft limits. see picture.

    You need to determine what i the g-code is causing the softlimit error.

    It could either be a setting in Aspire, or the softlimit settings in the DSP.

    Do you know what the softlimit settings are? And can you post the g-code to see where it exceeds them?

    Hi, thanks for the help.

    Its a new machine so still trying to work it all out, works fine doing 3 axis work. Have not changed any settings on dsp since it arrived.

    Cant work out how to attach a file, so it is below, just a simple rounding toolpath to turn a square post 100mm round.
