PMDX.COM - Products for CNC and motion control applications
Hello everyone ,
Let me explain a little bit about what brought this subject up . I have a cnc router with a hp a1140n desktop pc with onboard printer port and it all works well with Mach3 and the router . I wanted to add a manual pulse generator (MPG) to make touching off with edge finder and trimming in holes...etc easier. I bought a mpg off ebay and I bought a Startech port pci parallel adapter card part# PCI1PECP after getting everything wired and hooked up and Mach3 configured the mpg will not work the selector switches work sometimes and the dial rotary encoder has never worked . I have got another mpg coming because the 1st one I got was bad . So the whole point to this story is when I turn off the computer somehow someway the configuration of this pci card changes itself . I'm not sure how or what is going on but has anyone else experienced this problem and what adapter card is recommended for using with a mpg ??? I downloaded a program that let's you change and monitor the pinout and this is how I found out the pci port was changing. Does anyone have any suggestions or help

In teh LPT port setup you should be able to LOCK teh config so that windows does not change it on startup and it will always be teh same each time you start .
Just a thought (;-) TP
