Exclamation T-Slot routing on CNC in Hardwood

    Hello all,

I am looking for some help to narrow down settings for using a T-Slot router bit on my 3 axis CNC. This is my first time using a T-slot bit on a cnc and I cannot locate any information on chipload data for the bit I have to run through a solid piece of Hickory. As Hickory itself has a picky grain to begin with compared to some other hardwoods I want to get the feed rate and speed as tuned-in as I can.

The bit i am using is a t-slot 1-3/16" Diameter 5/16" kerf with two carbide cutting teeth. this is the link to the exact bit- https://www.toolstoday.com/v-9403-45666.html

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. If you have used a similar T-slot bit on hardwood in the past, do you remember the settings you used?

I'd cut a slot with a straight bit first for clearance, then try about 100ipm and 12-14000 rpm. There's a good chance that the chips are going to get jammed in there and burning will be an issue.
