Those are usually used on shapers or moulders with belt driven spindles and large induction motors.

Yes so I suspected also, but those spindles must also be avaliable for purchase?
The cheapest option would be to buy an old shaper and strip the parts from it.
I think that many of these spindles are designed and manufactured for specific machines, and are not generally available for purchase.
We just had a spindle on our moulder rebuilt, and it was about $2500. I would think the spindle would cost well over $5000.

I used to work on industrial finger jointers. With a 50mm hole that is a large cutter for an industrial machine, normally powered with a 20KW or larger motor. Check with Weinig https://www.weinig.com/en/ Also you may be able to find a used GreCon finger jointer in your area.
For smaller machines, search for shaper or wood shaper. Normally found with up to 25mm arbors.

How about just making it? order a machined and grinded shaft, put it in quality bearings and a pulley?
This is the cutter my customer wants and the maker says 5-7.5kw so I guess I have to trust them: https://www.kyocera-unimerco.se/kyoc...w410df170-001/
Are you building some type of machine to do finger joints?
Why not just buy a shaper, which is what these cutters are made for?

Well its supposed to be an automatic shaper for long planks and we are looking at different options at how to do it.
