Default SuperMax Max 3 Tool Change Problem

Hi guys, a CNC mill in our shop, a SuperMax Max 3, is not changing tools properly. The cassettes on the carousel are crashing into the tool holders when grabbing tools out of the spindle. The carousel indexes fine and it will pick up tools OK. M19 (spindle orient) is working fine as well. No alarms are occurring, the carousel moves into the tool holder under the head and crashes and locks up. It seems the position of the carousel is low in relation to the tool holder placement on the z axis. The bushings and bearings in the carousel were replaced within the last year, also. Any suggestions or thoughts?

    Joe

Problem solved, kind of. Had to change Z axis grid shift (para 510) however now we are getting an alarm that says spindle is too low for a tool change, when it is clearly not. Any ideas how to get past this?
(Moderator, I'm sure this is in the wrong forum.)

Hi. I'm having the same problem. Do you remember how your carousel was adjusted? mine needs to go up about 1/32", or Z home position needs to come down with that 510 parameter. Wont go any lower with the param.
We also replaced the roller bearings.
