I just picked up a used Xendoll C56A (C00056A) with an Adtech 4620 controller for cheap. Turns out it doesn't have a spindle encoder, so I can't do threading on it. Anyone know what it takes to add one?
Thanks,

Figured I'd add in what I've learned so far in case anyone else needs the same in the future. Turns out I need a 5 volt encoder with A+, A-, B+, B-, Z+, and Z- outputs. They say the pulses per revolution don't matter as that can be configured in the control. Still seems there are thousands of encoders to choose from that meet those requirements, ranging from about $25 to over a thousand. I'll update later as I learn more.
Most have been using 2000 line incremental encoders that would give you 8000 PPR here is one that a lot use
