Engraving mild/hot rolled steel ideas?

I'm looking to engrave a small logo 1" in size into mild/hot rolled steel. Doesn't have to be very deep. I've looked at lasers but I would need a fibre laser. A CNC mill might work but not sure. My budget is 1k so I know I'm limited. Any other ideas?

I don't think a lathe would work. I forgot to mention that the logo is small but the piece of steel is 16"x16".

The dot peen machines look interesting but prices range so much. Stuff from Chinese is around 1k but I wonder how good they are?

Do you know what material the stamp would have to be made of?

I suggest tool steel and heat treat then it should work

How many tonnes of force do you think is needed to stamp A36 hot rolled steel with a 1" stamp?
