Help!!! Fedek 542 barfeeder issues

Hi, new here and new to this old machine. I am having an issue when the bar is done it is not retracting and dumping the remnant. had to put a part counter on it to let us know when the bar was done. the lathe seems to skip over the part of the program for the retract and just keeps running through the program. I am wondering if there is a sensor somewhere I am not seeing. any help would be great.

yes, it looks like that but most likely an older model
