Hi, I've got a problem with this older machine, when in manual mode, it moves and jogs normally, but after you switch to auto mode (to run a milling program), or edit or mdi, the spindle starts dropping and the emergency reset button lights up, you can't reset the machine or start milling, you can only switch back to jog mode and reset the machine and move it normally, it automatically returns to last position in Z axis (spindle rises again), everything seems fine again...
I can home the machine, but everything else makes the machine stall and spindle drops, emergency reset lights up...
No error is shown on display, only emergency reset button lights up.
What are the possible causes of this behavior?

I am guessing the Z is coming down because of the Estop condition and gravity.
So the real question is why does putting it in edit mem and mdi put it into E stop.
