    Default Vise Recommendation

I 'd like to get a recommendation for a vise to be used on a Ryobi DP 120 drill press and eventually on a mini-milling machine to be purchased in the future. It will be used for concept level prototyping in primarily non hardended ferrous, non ferrious metals and plastics. I'd like it to have mounting lugs and be v-grooved horizontally and vertically. Any comments recommendations welcome

    TIA

I've used alot of brands and researched even more before I purchased over 200K worth of vise towers for my horizontal cell. I found strong and weak points among all the various brands. The type of work you plan to run, the quantities, changeovers, ease of use, and weight restrictions of the machine tool are just a few things to consider when making a vise purchase. There is no "one" vise that is the best for every situation and job. You need to decide which brand and options best fit your needs.
I ended up awarding TECO the contract for all my 8"- 8 station towers. For my applications, their quick change parallel system, chip avoidance shields, and new center jaw design was the clincher. I only wish they offered hydraulic units. Hope this helps!!
