Yeah.....try Hare & Forbes Machinery House (OZ) .....they have a model that retails at A$22k....plus del9ivery.

A lot will depend on the work size you want to do.....then double the buying price to outfit it with the tooling.

    Hello,
I ordered controller and spindle about more than 2 years ago, no news at all. I emailed Defeng, no reply at all. That parts were easy to get, spindle come from his inventory, driver and motor are easy to get.

Hi....I feel for you pal.......you could try contacting Jan Bos, the US dealership person, as has been suggested previously by HAB82 I think.....he might be able to see what the problem is and pull a few strings.

I talked with Jan, and mentioned the concerns expressed by all. He said he would be glad to try and assist in getting the issues resolved. Jan Lives in China and can visit the SkyFire plant to get things resolved. He visits the US two-three times a year so I have personally met Him. He said he would try to get on the forum to initiate contacts, but he can also be reached through his US email accounts. sales@skyfirecnc-usa.com or sales@tripletreecnc.com.

I have also purchase tools through him, and have been very happy with the price/quality. So far my best shipping experience for expedited shipping to the US is SF who then passes it to UPS for final delivery.

Good luck to all, I hope this helps get your issues with SkyFire resolved. I like my machine and would like to see a robust user community.

    Hello,
Thanks hab82 for your email info. I sent email to Jan Bos, he replied me very fast. He asked my proof of payment and some emails to Defeng. Do you think Jan Bos can push Defeng to solve the problem. I hope he will resolve soon the problem.

What is the height, length and width of a Skyfire SVM-2 VMC Workstation with an ATC? The dimensions on their brochure doesn't make any sense it says 1000mm height that's only 39 inches high.

In the pdf that Jan sent me a couple weeks ago the Vmc and workstation are. Both listed as LWH 950*1500*1700mm.

According to him they will not for through a standard 36" door, but shipping them un-assembled is an option.

LOL.....a standard 36" door......has anyone seen the layout of the SVM series of mills......I have the SVM-0 with the enclosure and it needs to be either forked front on.....which presents a maximum width....... or lifted with ropes (that is a challenge of huge proportions due to the absence of lifting points) to present a side profile for narrow openings.

I moved my SVM-0 on a pallet lifter and then an engine crane to lift it onto a work bench.

I think if I remember rightly that the SVM-1 and 2 have a heavy steel base that weighs a ton or more.....definitely fork lift territory or a crane if you have clearance above it.

PDF for the SVM-2 machines I received is attached.

Yes, the SVM-2 with the enclosure and stand comes in at about 1500lbs. The comment about going through a 36" doorway was because that is what I need to do. I do not have a dedicated shop space and this machine needs to go through a door and into my basement. I could remove the door temporarily, but I would rather not. Jan proposed to me that the machine be shipped with the enclosure removed and machine off the stand. They would provide a lifting bar for safely moving the machine onto the base using an engine lift or similar. The machine base also comes with heavy machine casters so it can be moved around without too much difficulty.

I just recently got a South Bend Fourteen into my basement through that same doorway. That lathe is about the same weight as the SVM-2 and much more top heavy. You work with what you have I suppose.

Thanks to Ian and hab82 that given me Jan Bos email. After having communications with Jan Bos by email, I have received my R8 spindle from skyfire cnc. I also ordered a controller box. After having discussion with Jan Bos and due to it was ordered long time ago, I do not need the controller anymore for right now. He recommend me to refund the money, I have received my money. I have not much problem to refund the money, but it took longer time to get R8 spindle from Defeng. Jan helped me alot to get the spindle. So that I recommend you to contact Jan Bos for everything about Skyfire CNC. He is the man for skyfire cnc. Good product.

I'm tempted by one of these machines but this thread is putting me off, not sure i want to buy into a long wait. Are all these issues now resolved and people getting their machines within stated time frames or are these elastic lead times on going?
