Just stumbled upon this a few minutes ago, and it looks pretty cool.
Looks like the price will go up as features are added, so I'm going to grab a copy and check it out.

I'm going to try it out, thanks Gerry and good timing since I'm looking for a alternative to Aspire. Also I checked out enroute and I'm curious if you think it's worth the $100 a month price tag?

I can't tell you if something is worth it to you.

Enroute can probably do everything Aspire can, plus quite a bit more. It's $6500, or $100/month. The simple answer is to pay your $100 and start using it. If it's not what your looking for, you're out $100.

The question is whether it's worth it to you to pay $100/month indefinitely. In 20 months, you'd have been paid the price of Aspire.

Played a little more this morning.

It has some potential.
If you are used to more traditional CAD/CAM, it's quite a bit different using an image based program. Mainly, because the images have to come from somewhere. Someone with a background in Illustrator or CorelDraw might have a lot easier time, as they are more used to working this way.
When someone decides to create a one of a kind UI, they better make it really good. This ones a little clunky, maybe partially because it's unfinished.

It'll likely take someone a lot of hours, to learn how everything works, and the affect that different image types can have.

It's an Alpha version, and I found it to be quite buggy. I was able to get it into error loops numerous times, requiring task manager to kill it.


When I first saw it, I was going to buy it. After using it, I'm not so sure.
Apparently the price will rise as more features are added. If we new what the final price might be, it might be an easier to choice to make.
The demo is quite limited, so it's a bit hard to even test, especially due to the limited g-code file size.



Really need to get a variety of image types to play with, to get a better idea of it's capabilities.

I went ahead and bought a license. Hey, for <$100 it seemed like an OK deal, and have been wanting some software to turn images into height maps and it seems to do that. In the time I've had a chance to play with it I didn't notice anything horrible, but I haven't had much time with it. I did run a couple of files through my simulator and they seemed to work OK.

The UI takes a bit of getting used to, but seems intuitive. I'll have to actually run some files on a machine to see what the end product looks like. And that is going to have to wait until I get my air compressor back on line.

Too early to recommend or not.
