Default how do you quantify the legibility of a printed file, for technical drawings ?

hello i guess there was a moment when you received a drawing that seemed too crowded, or way too enlarged, even if it's text size and lines style were standard

if you are creating technical drawings, how do you assure that they are legible ? it doesnt matter if there is a mistake in them, like a missing dimension or a line is too short, etc

let's supose you have to print 1000 drawings from digital media that has none, or wrong paper format :
... how fast can you choose the paper format, with you actual resources ?
... how fast do you think that is possible to choose the paper format, considering that you have all you need ? if you wish, please elaborate

let's supose that, inside a cad, you create a sketch of something, for which you have no dimensions, but only a best guess and a few infos; what is the minimal and the maximal custom paper format ( thus don't stick to A4 A3, etc, imagine that you have available whatever format you wish ), on which that skecth can be printed, still be legibile, but not exagerated ?

how would you quantify the legibility of a printed file, for technical drawings ? before approval, a drawing should be legible by any person, regardless of their profession

more precise, how to check the legibility before printing ? kindly
