NX wire programing

Can anyone help me understand what the upper ZM and lower ZM planes do in the cutting parameters? Does the upper and lower plane represent I and J, program plane and thickness? This is for a 4-axis program. We are trying to program 4 axis for the first time and also work the bugs out of a new postprocessor. Any ideas would be appreciated.
