Whats needed to run UCCNC?

What is needed? Do you have to use their control cards? I just purchased this set up https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Longs-motor-...53.m2749.l2649 and have a novusun control card with 4 tb6600 drivers, for a smaller machine. Will I be able to run UCCNC on these products.
I'm getting close to build my workbee and want to get everything ready. Thanks for any help.

No, you MUST use their one of their controller board to use their software.

I'd recommend a UC400ETH for just a little more money. Much better noise immunity, and it offers more options.

Man this is costing me more and more, I have 3 machines I'm building all together, 2 nema 23 and a 4x8 nema 34 closed loop. I guess its just a little more than mach3 I suppose, What is the difference between the 2? other than mach3 is probably no longer being updated. and it looks like no one knows anything about Drufel CNC.

Ger21 what are the options , I'll be doing mostly carvings and inlay stuff. Will I benefit from the options, Sound won't be a big deal when you run routers, doubt I'll hear the drivers over the routers. I plan on a rotary axis on 1 machine.

Hi,
my understanding is that UCCNC ($60 license) is supplied PER controller. If you require three controllers, the three licenses are are also required
over and above the cost of the controllers.

Mach3 or Mach4Hobby are licensed somewhat differently. Mach3 allows one license to be used on as many machines as you have and Mach4Hobby
may be used on up to five machines per license.

One of the selling points of UCCNC is that it is cheaper than Mach (3 or 4), and if you have one machine that is true. If you have multiple machines
as you do, that equation changes. If you have three machines the cost between UCCNC and Mach is about equal.

Oh, something I didn't know, always thought mach3 had to be bought for each machine, I do have a copy of mach3 I had for an older machine I had years ago. Only problem is the cheap controllers I got with all my 3 sets of drivers and motors, Guess I should just try them out and see. Thanks Craig.

I don't recommend for anyone to buy Mach3 these days, as it's been unsupported for years.
UCCNC is very similar to Mach3, so it's very easy to use. I think of UCCNC as a "modern" Mach3.

UC100 vs UC400 - The UC400 has two ports vs one on the UC100, so you have a lot more wiring options. It also can run at higher frequencies, if you need them. It's well worth the $25 premium over the UC100, imo.

Just thought I’d let you know I don’t think he meant actual sound you can hear. For clarification he probably meant electrical noise. Which can cause issues with signals and low voltage stuff.

I may end up going that rout after hearing a lot of negative things about these Chinese controls, plus I do like to keep up to date when posable.

If money is tight, you can use your licensed Mach3 with the UC controllers, so you don't need to by UCCNC licenses.
Or maybe try UCCNC on one machine to see which you prefer.
