Question Recommended machining method for part (image)

    Hello to all.
This is a simple part made from low carbon steel. It is a piston for a hydraulic ram.
I am trying to make a automatic code generator for this kind of part and I would like to get recommendations on the machining process to make the large groove outside.
My ideia is to make the full groove with a "grooving" tool. What are your recommendations? Another tool type?

The tool picture is from Iscar website. Something like this tool would be my best choice?
Any recommendation for the brand/inserts is welcome.
    Thank you and stay safe.

That is the way I would make that part. And would use an Iscar holder. They seem to work very well.

    Thanks for the reply.
On the picture you have 2 machining methods, I would choose the 1st.
