Emco Compact 5 CNC lathe floppy drive
Hi All,
I recently bought an Emco Compact 5 CNC lathe in a non working state.
Having spent many hours cleaning, lubricating and replacing parts the lathe is now working well.
The machine is a later model (1987) and is fitted with a Floppy Disk Drive (FDD) instead of the usual Micro Cassette Player.
All the manuals for the machine only give information on how to record programmes to tape and not to disk.
I assumed that the procedure would be the same but the FDD does not work.
I removed it from the machine and attached it to an old PC and it seems to work OK.
There is an interface card attached to the FDD which is wired in the same way as the tape drive interface.
Does anyone have a schematic of this FDD interface or the instructions on how it should be used.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Keith
