    Question HELP w/ G0752 CNC Conversion with M16D PoKeys Motherboard & DMM DYN4 Servo’s

    Greetings!

Well, I see that I have once again got myself in over my head. I was wondering if anyone might be able to help me setting up my CNC conversion?

    Here’s what I’m using:
    -G0752 lathe w/Delta VFD
    -BD Tools conversion kit
-CNC4PC’s M16D PoKeys motherboard w/Ethernet Smooth Stepper, RJ45 connector board for 2 axis
    -DMM DYN4 400 watt/200v Servo’s with RJ45 adapters for M16D

My Goal... To get this thing wired up and working with Mach4 with spindle Control. CNC4PC doesn’t seem to have wiring instructions for this exact VFD and I want to start “playing around” and blow things up...or worse - Ha! Ha!

Here’s my panel so far along with my enclosure:

And here’s my G0752 with an Enclosure I bought a while ago. It took a little modifying but it fits like a glove now (my control panel is now mounted on the right side of the cabinet as shown in above pic).

If if anyone is able to lend any advice or better yet, if you live around Buffalo, NY and are willing to spend a little time with a newbie, please let me know.

    Thanks!
    -Sam

Did you see these documents on cnc4pc website? https://www.cnc4pc.com/pokeys-motion-mother-board.html
Also what is the VFD model #?

    Hi!

    Thanks for the reply!

I purchased the enclosure of eBay (and no, the stand is not included for $1,100). It’s for an Optimum lathe. Yes, it was wayyy over priced but my free time to build one is very limited. For the amount of money I have into this build I would’ve been much better off buying a “real” CNC lathe. Oh well, live and learn I guess.

The VFD is a Delta and all is says is that’s it’s a “VFD-E”. Does that help?

I think M1 and M2 might be forward and reverse.

Here’s a look at my VFD:

I added a brake resistor right after I purchased it but I have not done done anything else with the factory switches/controls. Do I have to remove all of the factory wiring or can I just tie into the terminals? I guess I should probably remove everything else as this lathe will only be used as CNC and not manual.

Again, any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!
