    Default threading I.D A-36 steel

    hello everyone
    maybe someone can help me I am trying to thread a 2 1/4- 4 tpi I .D thread on A-36 steel,
    is there some kind of inserts and a tool holder I can buy or do I have to grind a tool?
    I prefer to buy a tool holder with inserts does anyone have a subjections? or what kind of tool a can buy?

    Would this work for you? https://www.shars.com/1-x-8-rh-threading-bar This one takes a standard triangular insert.

    4 TIP is pretty course so the standard G60 (8-14 TPI) won't work.

    so I am looking at this tool holder and I think it might work,
    but does it say any where that I can use this tool for that course of a thread?

    No, there is no thread spec given. Hard to tell from the pictures just how deep it will cut.

    You may have to do it like we did in the dinosaur era, make a boring bar and grind up a HSS tool bit.
