I am looking for a torque limiter to place in the tailstock and hold a chuck that in turn holds a regular tap.
I sometimes use an electrical handheld drill for tapping and the adjustable torque is great. I want that feature in a tailstock setting.
Where can I buy one so I do not have to make it?

You don't give any specs on the tailstock so it's a bit hard to offer holder advice. Maybe this? https://www.amazon.com/MT3-ER32-Mill.../dp/B00RN38KPO
for the mill https://www.amazon.com/Thread-Collet...79&s=hi&sr=1-3

Sorry Jim,
I am looking for something like the front end of an electric drill with an easily adjustable torque setting. This is not for production work, just hobby stuff.
What I envision is a 10mm=3/8" chuck to hold taps and the other end is a 10mm=3/8" rod that would fit the lathe or mill or drillpress chuck.
I have been thinking of cannibalize an old electric drill. I do power tapping now but I have to be very careful to stop in time.
You may have to cannibalize an electric drill. I've not seen anything like that.
