What do you have for the speed and frequency settings in the vfd?
Please post a photo of the motor nameplate.
Hello,
I need some assistance in trouble shooting my Journeyman 325 main spindle conversion to VFD.
I have a:
Yaskawa UAASKA-04CA1 Spindle Motor
3phase 200V 3.7/2.2 KW
Automation Direct
GS23-2010 AC general purpose VFD drive.
https://www.automationdirect.com/adc...pose/gs23-2010
Continuity between U+V, U+W, V+W is fine.
Ohm readings between U+V, U+W, V+W all read the same
Nothing is shorted to ground.
I changed the parameters on the VFD via USB to match the motors current rating and voltage.
I can get the spindle to start but once It gets up around 100rpm's it starts to draw about 60+ amps then shortly overloads the VFD.
Let me know if anyone need photos or anymore information to help me diagnose this problem.
Thanks.

Try setting P01.44 to 3 for Auto ACC/DEC
You need to set the max speed to 8000 rpm, like the nameplate says. And the max frequency needs to be correct, too. 267hz, if I recall correctly. Also make sure voltage is set to 200v. Nothing higher.
All,
Thanks for all the help Changing the settings to:
* Max RPM to 8000
* Max FQ 267
* Max V 200
* P01.44 to 3 (Auto ACC/DEC)
Worked like a charm. now just need to get it to "talk" to the Dynapath Delta 20M (See link below) for my other forum post.
