Hello all,

We have a Toyoda FH-55 with Fanuc 15-M controls that had a Z encoder alarm. The alarm stated "Pulse Coder Disconnect." A new encoder was installed by our maintenance department who don't know what they're doing. When the machine was turned on, both buttons for Z axis went to the positive direction

Pulse Coder was adjusted and the Z position went home. However, after the operator started the machine to run parts, the face mill moved .100 past the parts. Somehow the bearing/ballscrew was adjusted and now it seems the machine is fine.

Can someone tell me if there is a simpler way to fix this if it were to happen again?

Thank you!
