Manual Turret for the Slant Pro

So.... anyone seen or made a "manual" turret for the Slant Pro? It would be like a rotating quick change tool post. Basically would mount where the ATC would go only that it would be manual. Manual lever to remove a pin, rotate the carousel, flip the lever to put the locking pin back in. Would love to have the ATC but right now it ain't in the cards.

Thoughts?

Rotate it on some sort of locking 5C collet system. Seems like there would be a way to make something manual work. This is mainly for situations where there are clearance issues with doing gang tooling.

Why not purchase a lever action turret from a dv59 series Hardinge lathe a retrofit it. It already indexes just like you want.

Unless you are running production, I am not sure it would be cost effective. Like the Turret, it is an investment that you have to either really want or really have a need for.
No reason you can't put two QCTP's on it. One top side. The other at the bottom.
This is basically how I have mine setup.
I manage all my production stuff without moving any tooling around. I just swap out drills, taps, etc all in the same holders.

When I do need to do something new, I use those same configurations and just swap in different tools in the QCTP.
Works great so far.

I have zero need for a turret. Of course, most everything I turn is simple turnings, holes and taps.
If I needed to do more complicated parts, I would either do two ops or run two sets of Gcode smashed together with an M1 and just swap out the tool each time.

That would work fine for a few specific parts.

Dorian also makes a 4 position manual rotating QCTP. But the main thing is as long as you can live with 4 tools and don't have to swap tools - or - you have more tools on the gang plate you're accuracy should be as good as a turret ( which freaky frik'n accurate - I hold under .00015 ). When I had to change tools with a QCTP, and I had good one, I was seeing variance of +/- .0002, which sometimes you need to be within.
