Question Idea - repurpose old Tormach S1 parts to CNC router

Heya all - I hope fall is treating everyone well.

I have been looking into CNC routers to go with my PCNC 1100. I could buy a fully kitted out package but where is the fun in that???

I have the old S1 motors, drivers, and board from my 1100. Anyone ever used that to make a CNC router? I could reuse pathpilot as well.

    Thoughts? Ideas?

    Thanks
    Dave

I had considered doing something similar with the leftover steppers after my M+ upgrade but haven't gotten around to it. Probably won't anytime soon either given all the other things I have in my queue.

Dewing, if you do this and you then have a husk of a machine, please let me know.

For the past few years I've toyed with the idea of using my S1 steppers on an old KO Lee S714 surface grinder. Cranking the table manually in X gets old really fast.
