PathPilot Operator Console vs pc

Hi all,

Looking at the 8L lathe on Tormach's site got me to wondering about the new PathPilot Operator Console. I know it's available for the new mills as well as the lathes.

Has anyone had a chance to use one yet? Especially interested to hear from someone who as experience with the normal pathpilot on a pc controller, and on the new console.

The price of the thing is pretty high, it'd an $1800 upgrade for the lathe, or 2 grand to buy outright.

Is the Operator Console upgrade available for the 15L lathe? I don't see it as an option on Tormach's web site, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong location.

I don't know if it's available for the 15L, maybe just for the 8L packages. Could be like the mills, only works on the newer models.

I really like the console on my 770MX, Would love to have one for the 15L. Nice to have though, not a necessity.
