    Default 1100 Y Axis Mod

    Hi,

I am looking to do the 1100 Y Axis mod to get a little more travel. I was told someone on this forum did the mod but can't find the thread. Any help would be appreciated.

1100 S3 here, 10+ inches Y, 19+ X, I think the Y involved moving the limit switch bracket a bit and resetting the new value in Pathpilot. The X was more involved, I remember that I didnt get the 20 inches I wanted but close...

I am just looking to get the Y axis to 10" - 11" since allot of my customers seem to have projects in that size area.

I didnt make it to 11, 10 + comes to mind, this was a few years ago and I dont really remember.

I just checked it and its 10.125 Y and 19.25 X the max is a bit more than this.
I had an 18" part and needed the X travel which I use quite a bit, the Y travel I needed once or twice but not often.

You never have enough travel. Today I needed X of 19.5", just can't do it on my machine, believe me I have tried. Also remember the distance the head/spindle centerline is from the rear column is a limiting factor for mega useable Y travel no matter what you do, I think you can only get to around 11".
