    Default Sheffield Chuck.

My used, made in the UK 1/2" Sheffield/Jacobs chuck came today. Wow! What a beauty. The made in China 1/2" Jacobs that came with my 14x40 isn't in the same league. It weighs much less and is loose as a goose. The Sheffield is smooth, not loose, and just feels right. That, plus it just looks quality. You lads in the uk no doubt know what I mean.

    Congrats on a quality tool!

I bid on a 1/4" jacobs 1 jt, I bid 10.00 which was the starting bid and got it, turns out it was new and never used 17 dollars to my door. I bought it to replace one of the Tormachs that broke the gears inside.
I need a 1/2" jacobs for the lathe, the 30 year old chinese is loose and the key holes in the body are wallowed out again, I repaired it once but didnt harden the inserts hence the same problem again............
