I use the Tormach 24k water cooled spindle with chiller and power disconnect. Pricey BUT verrrrry good. You will find the water cooled significantly quieter than an air cooled because the fan is usually louder than the spindle itself. The cooling efficiency of the fan also drops as the cooling fins load with dust requiring cleaning.Added benefit is that it is fully integrated with PP and uses the existing VFD.The photos show cuts in exotic hardwoods using 1/16" and 1/32" carbide end mills both feed and spindle wide open. Step overs are in the range of 0.005" to 0.010". The horses requires about 24 +/- hours to cut. Finishes are good enough that no post processing like sanding (impossible at this detail level), polishing, etc. is required. Just shoot several thin coats of lacquer.gary
