    Default PathPilot V2.4.2 Release

I was browsing the Tormach site and happened to notice the release of V2.4.2. I checked email and did not see a notice about the release. Did they stop notifying, or was it just me?

I see that you can now GOTO a line and Set Start with no lead-in, or with a linear or plunge lead-in. The release notes give examples on that.

I got a 2.4.2 announcement email earlier this morning.

    From the email:

    NEW KEY FUNCTIONALITY:
    • Slant PRO rapids are increased from 60 IPM to 100 IPM
    • An ADMIN ENCODER TEST procedure was added to support installation of the BT30 spindle upgrade for M+ machines
    • Massive improvement to the ‘SET START LINE’ functionality
    • Conversational pocketing has been reimplemented with improved cut strategies
    • Coolant and the spindle are no longer turned off and back on in between every shape in a DXF generated G-code file
    • USB stability is improved by disabling ‘power saving’ functionality
    • For complete release notes and more information on this version as well as feature suggestions and issue reporting visit the PathPilot Software Center.

An important update was the peck rigid tapping . Great for a reduced HP spindle.

2 conversational modules I wish was on path pilot:

radius mill, other than a circle or box with radius corners. either tangent to two edges or center point and degrees.

The other is slot milling and starting from outside the part instead of the middle of the slot. This would help me not have to move the coolant or air blast in the middle.

Or am I missing something already there?

I am not real good at hand coding, especially multiple passes, and it is a pain to go back into the house and bring up cam for a simple job.

Any one else miss these two options.

everyone else must be using cam programs all the time not to miss those 2 conversational features.

Yeah, pretty much. If I can't bang it out in 5 lines of G-code, it's off to Fusion I go!

About same here. I use conversation mostly for stock prep. Any more I tend to have what I'm working on in cad/cam. Then if I spot anything goofy. Its easy to stop the operation, walk back and make changes to cad / cam files and send revised code back ready to go.
