Will this motor be a good choice for a Taig mill or are there more affordable alternatives with the same range of rpm?

If you want a project, this looks like the motor he is using:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Consew-CSM1...AAAOSwcLxYJlCZ

It is a good match to the Taig. I suggest you join the Yahoo TaigTools group if you haven't already. There are several discussions regarding using these motors on a Taig as well as a few folders in the Files section with all you need to know to roll your own.

Yes it looks that it must have the same rpm after gearing up the speed by using a smaller second wheel. But where can I get these wheels and a belt that fits for this project?

This place should have what you need. I have used them a few times. They have a center-distance tool that will help you pick the belt length for the pulleys you chose to get the distance between centers you desire.

Small Mechanical Components: Precision Gears, Timing Belts, Gear Assemblies, Timing Belt Pulleys, Couplings, Bearings and much more - SDP/SI

FYI, amazon has the cheapest price on the Consew CSM1100. Lot of information about them on the Taig Facebook group too.

FYI, you want to be convinced at what a Consew can do? Check out my Youtube channel

I tried that calculator but I didn´t understan why I should set values for ratio and number of grooves. Shouldn´t it be enough to set 40 in pulley A, 20 in pulley B and center distance, and let the tool calculate the rest?

I did find their tool al little confusing at first. You can specify the ratio and center distance an it will pick the pullies and belt or you can specify the pullies and belt and it will tell you the center distance.

I posted another manufacturer and calculator on your other thread and gave you all the info to put in to find exactly what you are looking for. These are tried and true numbers many of us on the Taig Facebook group are already using. We also already have the CAD files for the motor mount to make it more sleek, better adjustment and even cutout for the pulley hub so you can push it closer to the motor. Check out the file section in the Taig Facebook group for that.

I´ve just got the motor, but I´m going to wait for other parts before I can set it up, so I haven´t tried it yet.
