newbie needs help with setting up stepper motors and drives

hey guys it's my first post here I recently bought a stepper motor package from eBay ( https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3-Axis-C...-/174192113287 ) i paired that with a nvum usb controller in mach 3, i just wired up everything but I'm having trouble with a few things

1. the motors seem to stall or just not turn at all sometimes, I'm assuming this can be fixed with the dip switches and motor tuning in mach 3- I'm pretty clueless so any help would be awesome.

2. the motors only turn one way, I've triple-checked their wired correctly but am still stuck.

any help is really appreciated I'm making a CNC router for a school project and I'm on a bit of a tight schedule, if anyone needs pictures just ask.

Start with one motor and driver.
Be sure to have it connected correct and the dipswitches on the driver.
leave EN input from the driver disconnected for the first test.
Power on, and verify that the driver is power on, no fault led and the motor is hold in position.
If this is correct, try to rotate the motor with the software ( low speed settings low acceleration settings )
If the motor rotates, but only in one direction, use a voltmeter and check the voltage between DIR+ and DIR-
when you drive the motor from the software in one direction, this should be solid below 1 volt or above 4 volt
If you drive the motor in the other direction it should be the reverse.

Looking at the manual quickly it says it's common anode yes?
As in the com port of the stepper connections is 5V +ve. correct?
The Mach3 instructions for this are crap!!!

So:
Start with X axis.
COM+ to ALL 3 of these: ENA+, PUL+, DIR+
CPX to PUL-
DIX to DIR-
For enable. Manual shows enable1 as port2 pin3. find that and connect driver ENA- to it.

Now you need to figure out which port/pins are relevant to cpx and dix and assign them in Mach3. The pdf instructions I've seen show 0,0 for both the ports and pins (fck sake!). No wonder people struggle.
Figure that out, tick enabled on axis and enable 1 and if motor wires are correct it should run.


Once that's sorted do Y
Same COM+ to the same ENA+, PUL+, DIR+ (You may need to get a connector block for all these wires)
CPY to PUL-
DIY to DIR-
ENA- to the SAME pin as X axis (You may need to get a connector block for all these wires)

Then Z
COM+ to ENA+, PUL+, DIR+
CPZ to PUL-
DIZ to DIR-
ENA- to same as X&Y


My Mach ENABLE on my mill (different controller altogether) is connected to port1, pin14 and assigned as a simple ouput number 1.

Wiring a driver is normally the simplest thing to do.
Getting sick of all these crap instructions.
