It's hardly ever the fault of the stepper motor itself. Try lowering the acceleration.
I have a bridgeport mill I've acquired with an old cnc setup that I've updated a bit. I run it with mach4 through a pmdx-424 smart Bob. My z-axis motor is losing steps, and I think it's time to update these stepper motors. Can't find any good replacement based on the model tag of my current motor. (I'm a noob at this). Thanks.
