    Default Driver On/Off

Hi im in the phase of building a cnc machine and i have few things that are messing with me. It's not a big deal but i could not see anywhere..if you plug your machine all the steppers are going to hold/stuck my leadscew driven machine and let's say i need to move my X manually (i have dual shaft motors) i want to turn on/off my motors individually with a separate rotary knob for every motor.
What is the most logical way to turn off a motor: cut the Power V+36 or Signal V+5 (to the driver) hmm?

which stepper drivers are you using ?

many have 3 inputs step , direction and enable
the enable being unusual in being a negative logic input so the drive is enabled with no enable input !

if you have a drive with opto-isolated inputs like this for example
    Driver On/Off-cwd782-500x500-jpg

some CNC machines don't have the stepper driver enable inputs connected
making it easy to add switches to disable a driver

connecting +5V via a switch to the + enable input and 0V / ground to the - enable input
    will disable the drive
making it possible you to manualy turn the motor with the power on

Probably the best way would be to use the ENABLE signal if your stepper driver has it (most of them do).

im using DM542A i have wire them like this: Pulse5+ and Direction5+ are feed from my 5v power supply, pulse and direction negative are connected to pin2 and pin3 on the bob. I was following the diagram from this picturehttps://www.cnczone.com/forums/attac...1&d=1558634485. And on this picture is the testing wiring https://www.cnczone.com/forums/attac...1&d=1558634485 it works like this :/
