Default Prolight 3000 turning center C-axis driver failure

I've encountered a problem with my Prolight 3000 turning center. I was learning how to use the machine by cutting a few tapered spacers when the machine buried the bit resulting in a stall. I cleared the machine and then the tool turret started acting erratically. It's very jerky as it rotates and it won't home correctly. I've been told by the factory that the driver is burned out and that they need to replace it. Is this something that I can fix by replacing a chip or is it much more complicated?
    Thanks.

i have the same problem with my turret after a crash, i took apart the turret and the bolt tat goes through the middle was loose, also it has a little flat bar that functions as a stop for tool position. i will say that is bend. you need to make it straight again.
