    Default My VFD Not reaching maximum speed if controlled from mach3 - YL620-A

    Hi everyone,
    I have the YL620-A Model VFD, and I connected that to my controller (Geckodrive G540), and the maximum speed I can reach even that I start the spindle on maximum speed in mach3 is 3682 out of 4000,
    At the begging I thought its because I used a thin cable to connect between the controller and vfd for the 10V VI1 GND, and then I connected a thick cable that supposed to use for home power 220v but it still was the exact maximum speed (3682),
    the exact number was reached at max, so its not the cable, no idea what else to try,
    btw If I control the speed from panel potentiometer it lets me reach 4000.

    P00.01 = 1
    P07.08 = 3
    P03.13 = 4000

    and also have problem with when connecting my VFD to the power, it shows me Er.10, checked it out at manuals it says Problem with Input power, and I did check the input power, its fine, there's nothing wrong with the input power,
    then I just press PRGM button and its skips the error and everything else work fine, idk just annoying.

    would be happy for help, thanks

    This could be many things, so let's start with the basic

    What kind of motor AC 3phase motor are you running at 4,000 RPM??

    Did you have it working from the VFD Drive KeyPad before you connected to Remote Control??

    Does the control output 0-10v dc Analog??

    What Parameters have you set in the VFD Drive??

    You can use regular Cat6 Ethernet cable for the 0-10v dc Analog connection to the VFD Drive for speed control, any other Twisted Pair cable would also work, using anything else would not be ideal

    Do you have a 0.1uf Capacity across the 0-10V and ACM(analogue common) and do you pass the two wires through a ferrite core?

    Measure the max. Voltage from the controller and I think you are getting only 9.2V instead of 10V.

    Its 24k RPM, on the panel you have 0-4000 hz, when you put it on 4k hz its sets the motor to 24k rpm

    Yea already said, when im running it regular without controling the speed from mach3 just from the vfd panel I can reach 4k hz (24k RPM), when I control from mach3 its reaches max 3678-82

    I think its analog what do you mean

    Parameters posted on top

    How do I know if I have that 0.1uf capacity across the 0-10v and acm, and I dont pass throught a ferrite core, what is it even does?, also said I tried even a power cable 220v regular power cable that you use for your home stuff.

    Dont have a volt counter

    Analog input voltage has to be matched to feedback from encoder, either a parameter or potentiometer is used to match. When speed reference = speed actual motor will rotate at that speed until load is applied by cutting forces then current will increase to maintain ref=act. So ref 10v @ 4000rpm needs act feedback 10v matching to balance drift. Some drives have a drift pot or parameter, so S0 M3 programmed should see the spindle stand still.

    Your Parameters are incorrect this is the Parameter list you need to set, so Rest the VFD Drive to the Default and try these Parameters, you will need a Multimeter to check the 0-10v out to the VFD Drive

    Did you check to see that the parameters that you changed like P03.13 = 4000 Etc have been reset to Default these Parameters should not be changed

    Are you running from the KeyPad if you have the spindle working correct from the KeyPad then connect the Remote control 0-10v this must be working also at the control Board
    Using MDI M3S12000 should give you 5v at the Breakout Board if not you have to get this working before you connect it to the VFD Drive

    Yea checked all parameters, and as I said before when I run from the panel potentiometer I can reach 4000 its just when I run from the Geckodrive G540 (mach3) its does that.

    You mean 400Hz =24000 RPM

    So, the problem is you have to have the 0-10v from the G540 before you can make the VFD run correctly from G540 remote control

    The first thing is how have you wired the G540 for the 0-10v Analog output ??

    G540 Pin 9 - 10v VFD
    Pin 8 - VI1
    Pin 7 - GND

    Again, its works fine, its just stops at the same number 3768 at max

    Have you checked the output voltage at pin 7 and pin 8 using MDI M3S12000=5v you need to see if you have this part working and that the voltage is changing with the different speeds on Pin 7 & 8

    You also need the Mach3 spindle settings PWM to be set at 50Hz for the G540 to output correctly

    Check potentiometer output voltage at the same speed as G540 .... Are they the same?

    The pot could simply be giving a higher analog voltage to attain 4000rpm.

    Then tweak mach3 parameter upward to see if you can get to 4000rpm.

    That would be imposable to check as they are completely different, the Pot does not work when the VFD Drive is programed for remote control, and it would be very difficult to measure the Pot voltage when in manual KeyPad mode

    Mach3 has no, upward magical anything you could tweak so enough of your Bs

    Mach3 has (2) basic Parameters that need to be set for the G540 requirements, PWM=50 and Pully speed and ratio there is nothing else too it.

    We need to know what kind of spindle motor he is running also as the Parameters I posted are for a high-speed spindle not a motor that has a 4000 RPM Max
