    I don't think your 3.2Kw spindle will be 8.8 per phase

    Trick wiring, well it is not for everyone, so I only post about it when it is needed. at this point you don't have a need.

    Motor name plate Amps or FLA x 1.732= the required input Amps for Single Phase Supply to 3 Phase, plus 125% for cable and Breaker size, you can work it out from this PDF

    What do you figure my spindle will draw per phase, under 8? Manufacturer says that 120% of rated for 8 sec is max recommended.

    Unless I push it hard, I don't think I'll ever see much over 20 amps in the single phase side.

    3.2 kw @240 v (my supply voltage

    3.2/.24 X1.25 = 16.7 amps

    Distance from service to VFD is under 6 feet

    If the name plate amps are 8.8A then it should be around 3A per phase
